Political Philosophy for John J. Collins

Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Fountain Valley

My leadership and common sense approach to problem solving have played an important role resolving critical situations and creating sound public policy. My business discipline has helped in strategic planning, balancing our budget, controlling expenses, streamlining operations while maintaining sufficient reserves for emergencies.

During my council tenure the City of Fountain Valley has no new tax laws and has increased public safety programs, including paramedic services and adding more police to patrol neighborhoods.

I have proven my public administration skills by becoming one of only five California officials to graduate from Elected Officials Leadership Academy.

My 25 years of leadership in Fountain Valley non-profit organizations confirms my dedication to our community (1990 Fountain Valley Citizen of the Year), especially its youth (Boys and Girls Clubs, Fountain Valley Educational Foundation, Fountain Valley Youth Baseball).

I pledge to continue working hard to protect our tax dollars and keep Fountain Valley safe, secure, and a "nice place to live."
