Dear Voters,

I would be privileged to serve our children, our community and our future as a board member of the Los Alamitos Unified School District. I was educated in this district starting at Lee Elementary School. I attended U.C.L.A. where I earned my B.A. in Communications. I received my law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.

Three years ago, my husband and I returned to Los Alamitos for the public schools. We now proudly watch as our 6 year old son, a first grader at Rossmoor Elementary School and our 4 year old daughter, soon to enter kindergarten, grow to be responsible citizens.

I have been active in the community and in the school. Shortly after returning to Los Alamitos, I was appointed by the city council to the Parks & Recreation Commission. I am serving the Rossmoor School PTA as the legislative liaison. I am working with the District Council PTA as the Parent Education Chairperson.

I was admitted to the California Bar in 1987 and have practiced law in a private firm, Fortune 500 corporation and now with a not-for-profit agency.

Currently, I direct the A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE Institute project for Orange County/Long Beach. The project is an anti-bias prejudice reduction program for the schools, workplace and law enforcement. I work closely with the Orange County Department of Education and with districts, schools and students. I also work with law enforcement and community leaders on projects targeting hate crimes and hate motivated behavior.

I will bring to the board my education, my professional experience and my ideas for the future of our community.
