San Clemente Coastal Trail

To build or not to build ... that is the question.
Although a coastal trail from North Beach to T Street Beach would benefit the community in many ways, I take the Hippocratic oath: First, do no harm. No public amenity is worth damaging our finest natural resource.

I do, however, favor further studies and facilitated "stakeholder" discussions. Our goal should be to resolve the safety issue of people walking in such close proximity to increasing numbers of quiet trains. OCTA will certainly take drastic action when the eventuality occurs and someone is killed.

Finally, if substantial community support emerges for a Coastal Trail, I would favor a ballot measure.
