Safety/Crime

By Lou Bone

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Tustin

This information is provided by the candidate
Tustin police must have the resources needed to keep our families safe. Tustin needs enforcable programs to rid our city of abandoned shopping carts, unsightly signs and graffiti that tell criminals no one cares. Gang prevention programs are needed to stop crime before it starts.
The first priority of any government must be to protect its citizens.

Tustin police must have the resources they need to keep our families and businesses safe. I am disturbed our city council used money earmarked for our police department for other purposes.

If small problems are not solved, larger problems will follow. Abandoned shopping cars, unsightly signs and graffiti tell criminals that no one cares. Because I would not give up, Tustin now has a shopping cart ordinance.

Gang prevention programs are needed to stop crime before it starts. While our Tustin Police Department has an excellent Gang Unit, they need help from the community. I have initiated discussions for a at-risk youth program with the Director of the Tustin Boys & Girls Club, the Tustin Chief of Police, the Sheriff Elect and the District Attorney Elect.
