Why Do I Want To Serve As A Councilmember?

By Barbara "Barb" Beatty

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Garden Grove

This information is provided by the candidate
I HAVE A VISION FOR GARDEN GROVE
I have a vision of Garden Grove as a balanced community. A community with the following characteristics:
  • Crime-fee neighborhoods
  • Where our citizens can go for walks
  • Where children can ride their bikes
  • Grandmas & Grandpas can sit safely on the front lawn and enjoy the ocean breezes
  • Residents have opportunities for education, livelihood, entertainment and shopping
  • Residents enjoy the advantages of knowing and supporting the small businessperson
  • Residents also appreciate the participation of large businesses in the community which provide employment and support community events
  • It is a community where ethnic diversity is enjoyed and shared by everyone through the Interfaith Council and everyone cares for one another

My vision is much more intense than presented in the above paragraph. It in includes all facets of business, education, development, employment, traffic control and recreation. I believe that this will bring balanced development to the community.

As the fourth largest city in the county, it is time for Garden Grove to respond to the needs of our community and to act with dignity and professionialism in the choices that will be reflected in our future. As your next councilwoman, I look forward to bringing balance, dignity and professionalism to the city council, because I care about Garden Grove.

WITH YOUR VOTE, I/WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
