Public education is the State of California is entrusted to both the State and the local community. The State establishes guidelines for local Boards of Education to implement within the needs of the local community. We, as elected trustees, serve as governing boards for our educational system. We must never forget that we serve to meet the needs of our community. We are entrusted with Shafter's greatest asset, our children. We must be responsive to the needs of the community as we strive to provide the best possible education to our children. |
