Make Bakersfield business-friendly Protected property rights Lowered park maintenance district taxes by 66%!
Economic growth is an issue that is important to all people. We want an environment where we can progress, and establish comfortable lives for our families. I have worked to create this kind of environment by fighting for lower taxes. For example, the taxation of park maintenance districts was reduced by over 66%.

There have been significant improvements in our city's environment. The arena has been planned and opened. This will greatly help the economy of Bakersfield. We were able to open Centennial Plaza without using tax money because of donations from the community of almost $2 million.

Other factors that will aid in the economic growth of Bakersfield are the lowered crime rate, plans for improved transportation, and prudent city budgeting. I am looking forward to continuing the momentum I have built during my preceding terms.
