Political Philosophy for Sherman Schapiro

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Blue Lake

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe the function of a good city council member is to act as an informed representative of all members of the community, both residents and businesses, without having any overriding personal agendas. A council member, through contact with the public and city staff, must make decisions that best meet the interests of all. Depending on the situation, this may not always lead to the most popular results. However, in my 8 years on the Blue Lake City Council, I believe I have consistently done my best in trying to uncover all sides of an issue so that the entire Council can make informed decisions. Further, if you have attended any council meetings during this time, you would have seen that I am not afraid to debate an issue with anyone, including the City Manager, if I believe that the outcome would best serve the Blue Lake community. I ask for your continued support in this election so that I can continue representing you in this informed way.
