Community and Civic Activities

  • Served as chairman of "Tom Flores Day" and initiated the naming of the football stadium "The Tom Flores Stadium". This was a community celebration that honored the Oakland Raiders coach, a Sanger High graduate.
  • Member of AMVETS Post 98.
  • Member of the Y's Mens Club.
  • Member of YMCA District Board of Directors.
  • Served as chairman and co-chairman of the community Cancer Society Fund Drive.
  • Served on block marches and other fund raising activities for heart, lun and children's diseases.
  • Served as chairman of the Tom Flores Youth Foundation for 10 years.

  • Coordinated the St. Mary's Youth Group that petitioned to place the community center and swimming pool in the east side of the city.
