Candidate's Statement as Appearing in El Dorado County Sample Ballot and Voter Information Pamphlet
My wife and I have been deeply involved in Gold Trail USD from the day that our eldest of three children attending District schools entered the first Kindergarten class attending Sutter's Mill School in 1991. Since then, I have served as classroom volunteer, PTO treasurer, District Budget Committee parent representative, Sutter's Mill Site Council member and chair, and, for the past four years, member of the Board of Trustees (including the last two years as board president).

During my term, the District became one of the first to fully implement class-size reduction in grades K through 3, Sutter's Mill was honored by the state as a California Distinguished School, and Gold Trail School's performing arts program received the prestigious Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association. The District has observed the highest degree of fiscal prudence while carefully maintaining its physical plant, improving our students' access to technology, bringing greater equity to its salary schedule, and continuing to attract highly qualified applicants to join our fine staff as administrative, teaching, and classified vacancies occur.

I would appreciate your continued support. We have achieved much; we still have much to do. Our kids demand no less.
