Read and Weep:---- Voting Record of My Opponents

By Leonard A. Clark

Candidate for State Representative; District 17

This information is provided by the candidate
Remember, that the largest ship did not sink until the one drop of water sent it under for even though many tons of water filled the ship there had to be one final drop of water to sink it. Your Vote is that drop of water!
The following voting of my opponents is only the tip of the terrible iceberg when it comes to the voting record of opponents.

Folks, I know you are probably very cynical about voting at all but if you somehow don't vote then our children and families will continue to suffer. One of my opponents has been voted the number one legislator in Arizona by the Arizona Chamber of Commerce (big business). He was given at least a 100% favorable rating. Were my opponents voted for by the people who favor children and elderly issues? My question while they were working so hard to get the approval of big business were they as hard for the working people of district 17. In my opinon and many other voters I talk to in this district they sure weren't.

You hardly ever hear about these legislators because if they attracted your attension it would draw attension to shadowy special interest who want to stay quiet. Remember, that like the child playing in the next room that suddenly becomes very quiet this is when they are their most tricky and clever. You might think that since my opponents were elected that most of the voters must like them. Unfortunately, hardly anybody shows up to the polls to vote. Until I Leonard Clark, and my Friend Ken Thomas decided to run against these rich conservative politicians that no democrats had run in district 17 for years because many people had given up.
1.)They voted to overturn the initiative passed by the citizens of Arizona.
2.)They dragged their feet on Kidscare a law which tries to equalize school funding for poor and rich school districts.
3.)They voted against a bill which would have banned legislators from accepting gifts from lobbyist.
4.) My opponents voted for a bill which tried to destroy the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
5.)One of my opponents voted in favor of destroying the records of Daycare Centers after several short month. At present, Arizona law requires that Daycare Centers save their records for at least several years so that parents can check the Daycare Center's history for any chain of abuses. It also important to note that one of my opponents who voted for this deregulation of DayCare was a former Daycare Center owner and one of the Daycare industry's strongest defenders.
6.)At least one of my opponents voted for the infamous veggie-protection act which made it illegal to insult Arizona vegtables in your store. For example if you went into your local store and said these Arizona Tomatoes look like garbage you could be sued by the Arizona Agricultural industry. It was this same type of law which Oprah Winfrey was sued for by big Texas Cattle Rancers. Oprah Winfrey won her case because the law was blatantly unconstitutional. We are one of only 13 states in the country to have such a ridiculous law on our books.
7.) One of my opponents accepted free tickets and free caterng to the first opening game of the Arizona Diamondbacks from one of the millionaire owners of the team while everybody had to pay and the needy children and elderly citizens in our district (district 17) could not even afford to go. Please don't give up! Remember that President Kennedy beat Richard Nixon by an average of one vote per precinct throughout the country. Your vote counts! If only you and a couple of your friends show up to the polls we will Win!

If you are busy or just don't like to fight the traffic you can request an absentee ballot from the Secretary of State Office. Their phone number is:602-5426149 and their webpage address is:www..sozaz.com. Their main number is:602-542-4285.

I can also assist you in getting a request for an absentee ballot. You can write me at:Committee to Elect Leonard Clark, 5925 W. Olive, Glendale, Arizona 85302. You can also call me at 602-930-5388.

Remember please vote to end the tragedy and insanity of a conservative state legislature that is almost totally controlled by big business special interest!
