Background on Mark Raus, Republican Candidate for United States Senate.

Born and Raised in Southern California to Democrats. (They did change this year). As a boy he worked delivering newspapers, and doing yard work. Started working in a pharmacy at age 16. Attended Costa Mesa High School, Orange Coast College, Golden West College, University of California at Irvine and Idaho State University where he recieved his degree in pharmacy. His college education was financed by a combination of scholarships, loans, parental support and odd jobs(wherever he could get them).

Became a licensed pharmacist in California and Nevada after passing the Board exams. Recieved post graduate training from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia where he aquired his certificate to become an authorized user of Radiopharmaceuticals. Worked in Las Vegas, Nevada for four years in a nuclear pharmacy, as well as at Sunrise Hospital (where he met his wonderful wife, a nurse) and at a long term care pharmacy. Moved to Sacrmento in 1988 where he took a job as a pharmacy manager for a nuclear pharmacy. Was married to Anita Vignone in 1990, who works as a nurse for Sutter Memorial Hospital, and moved to Hawaii where they worked for 3 months(an extended honeymoon).

Mark now works full time for Raleys pharmacy in El Dorado Hills. He is the Vice-President of the Independent Pharmacists' Association, Northern California's only pharmacist union. He has been with Raley's for 7 1/2 years now. During that time Anita and Mark have supported the Sacramento Life Center through volunteer efforts and contributions. They have two wonderful children, Anthony and Luke, ages 5 and 3. He firmly believes Senator Boxer, by her voting record, does not represent the best interests of this great state. It is time for her to go. That is why Mark has invested so much time, money and effort in this great endeavor to the point of running as a candidate for the United States Senate. He is not a politican, he is a pharmacist, willing to represent the rights of taxpayers in Congress.
