Cornelius "chuck" Coronado

Chuck Coronado's life is a history beginning in abject poverty in his childhood. He was raised in the harsh environment of a Spanish speaking barrio, in a home predominately Spanish speaking, and schooled in a system that stressed total English immersion. The ups and downs of that experience are fondly remembered.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in October 1944, at age 17. He served his Corps and nation in battle on the island of Okinawa, then in occupation service in North China.

He entered engineering college in 1949 and enjoyed 39 years of a most glorious and exciting career in design and integration management of many aerospace projects.

Chuck found time for political and theatrical pursuits. He served as a City Councilman for two terms in compliance with the two term limitations he helped to bring about. He served on the Board of Directors and later as Trustee with the Long Beach Civic Light Opera.

He obtained two coveted certificates in Government Contract Management and Certified Financial Planning.

He is Catholic and a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.

He is an active Republican, having served with County and State Central Committees.

He servs on 39th Congressional District's United States Service Academy Advisory Board.

He is a bona fied Senior Citizen.

He has been married to Adrea for 39 years, they have three children. He and Adrea have resided in Orange County for 36 years.
