Political Philosophy for Mary Christian-Heising

The Board of Equalization is responsible for the collection and administration of most state taxes. Taxes are necessary to provide essential government services; however, they should be minimized. Tax policies, laws and regulations should be changed to shift the regressive tax burden from low income consumers to more progressive taxes on those businesses and individuals who can better afford to pay.
