Political Philosophy for Randy Petersen

Candidate for Members of County Central Committee; 4th Supervisorial District; Republican Party

This information is provided by the candidate

My basic philosophy of government is that government best serves when it is local and accountable to the people. That is not happening today. Power has been too greatly focused in a government that for Californians is over 3000 miles away. There is a tendency to make government be a one size fits all design. That never works, as communitees are all different and their needs and goals diverse. This has been compounded by the imposition of excessive taxes, rules, and regulations.

My goal has been to restrain the enactment of additional news laws and the examination of the existing laws to see if they are serving the people's best interest. The role of government is to serve the people. The government exists at the service and will of the people. We currently have a government at all levels that is out of control. We have leaders that are more interested in cutting deals on votes with their peers then really examining the laws they are voting on.

I will do as much as I can at the local Republican Party Central Committee Level to ensure that those types of people do not get nominated and elected to serve in Santa Clara County, Sacramento, or Washington D.C. You might say my primary goal is quality control on local politicians.
