Candidate Ballot Statement

By David A. Cena

Candidate for Judge of the Superior Court; Office 3

This information is provided by the candidate
I have the experience necessary to be an effective and fair Superior Court judge. I am not accepting money or endorsements from attorneys, corporations or special interest groups.
Santa Clara County residents need experienced, fair, and ethical judges.

I am an experienced judge and trial attorney with twenty years of legal experience.

As a trial attorney, I tried many complex lawsuits, including product liability, toxic torts, and construction defects, and settled many others typical of those now flooding Santa Clara County courts. I will bring that civil litigation expertise and experience to the Superior Court. Fair and effective resolution of these cases is essential to the continued vitality and success of Silicon Valley.

As a judge, I have presided over thousands of felony and misdemeanor matters, including homicide, drug, domestic violence, rape, and child abuse cases. I have required rehabilitation and treatment programs in appropriate drug and alcohol cases to return offenders to productive lives, and also believe in incarceration of offenders not suitable for such programs.

I believe strongly that judges must remain free from the influence of special interests. Money and endorsements from attorneys, corporations, political parties, and special interest groups can undermine the independence and neutrality of the court and politicize the office of judge. I will not accept such contributions or endorsements.

Cast your vote for David A. Cena, an ethical and experienced judge.
