Official Ballot Statement

Statement of STEVE HAZE, Candidate for
                            City Council Member
   Occupation: Business Executive
   Age: 47
   Education and Qualifications:

Integrity is more important than any election. When last-minute, false
information misleads voters, we all lose.

Last election, a local newspaper falsely misled voters in the final
days of the campaign. The newspaper was given false and misleading
information and based a negative editorial on that misinformation.

Neither the newspaper nor my campaign had an opportunity to correct
these false statements given to voters. The editorial implied my
campaign had sent out an unfair piece of literature. Untrue - I did
not authorize or endorse the mailer referred to in the newspaper.

A lie, unanswered, often becomes truth. Voters deserve to know when
they have been misled. A reputation built in a lifetime should not be
   tarnished by one well-placed lie.
My accomplishments are the best resume for Cupertino City Council:
     * I support reducing the negative impact of the massive growth in
       the General Plan.
     * I led the fight to ensure that 65% of the Diocese Property would
go to enlarging Rancho San Antonio Park.
     * I joined our community's effort to improve our schools.
     * I fought successfully to protect neighborhoods from the impact of
       growth.

I ask for your support, and thank you for allowing me to right a wrong
