Detailed Biography for Perry J. Woodward

This information is provided by the candidate

Gilroy is my hometown: My family first came here in the early 1890s. As a lifelong resident, I have seen many changes -- some good and other bad -- in our town. As your Councilmember, I would offer new ideas and a fresh perspective. I want to make our community a safe and prosperous place to live and raise a family.

I attended public schools in Gilroy. Glen View Elementary, South Valley Junior High, Gilroy High and Gavilan College were among the schools I first attended. I then attended the University of California and, ultimately, received my law degree from Santa Clara University. While in school, Gilroy was always my home. Here, I held various jobs as I worked my way through the expenses of life and education. These jobs included framing pictures at Leedo Gallery, operating heavy equipment at the South Valley Disposal landfill and working maintenance at Gavilan College. I also sold real estate for Colwell Banker Pivetti. Today, I am a lawyer for a downtown San Jose law firm. Along the way I gained experiences that allow me to identify with people from virtually all walks of life.
