               Statement of K. A. MIKE GILROY, Candidate for
                                   Mayor
   Occupation: International Business Consultant
   Age: 61
   Education and Qualifications:
   
   I want all of us to work together toward making our city one of the
   greatest places in the country to raise a family. This means we must
   have good public schools, a low crime rate, reasonable cost housing, a
   clean environment, low drug and alcohol abuse rates, varied and
   quality youth and senior programs, and good paying jobs that are
   suitable for our work force.
   
   During the past six years as your City Councilman, I have tried to
   inject common sense into every city decision, to be accessible, to
   listen to your concerns, to return your phone calls and to follow
   through on all issues or requests for action.
   
   I have carefully scrutinized every city expenditure and have attempted
   to fairly and impartially represent all segments of our community. I
   look forward to the opportunity of serving you as your mayor.
