John R. Penna	Age: 55
Occupation: Incumbent City Council Member

Education and Qualifications:

For the past 8 years I have had the honor to serve as one of our elected city
council members. It has been a memorable experience for which I am most
grateful. I have been involved with all the issues that have faced our city
during these last 8 years including decisions on issues that will face us
during the next 4 years. Some of these had to do with preservation of jobs due
to state cutback of funds, transportation issues, SFO noise insulation
programs, park & recreation issues ranging from children to senior programs,
and expansion of paramedic services to name a few. I have always kept the
interest of South San Francisco residents first in mind when making these
decisions. We are also on the brink of becoming, if not the largest, the second
largest bio-science city in the world. Our four redevlopment areas are all
beginning to function as a producing factor to our economy. I would like to
thank you for allowing me to be a part of this process as one of your elected
council members. Another election is upon us and I again ask for your support
to re-elect me to serve your interest. Thank you.
