Detailed Biography for James Marsh

Mr. Marsh has lived most of his adult life on the MidCoast, graduated from Burlingame High School, having purchased a home in El Granada. Currently he lives in Moss Beach. Mr. Marsh has worked as an Engineering Design professional, Construction Inspector/ Manager, and currently is Contract Administrator for a portion of the SFIA terminal expansion. He has worked for short periods for both the City of Half Moon Bay and for the Harbor District. He is a Certified Mediator in the State, and has a wide background in problem solving in engineering, construction & insurance, by the use of Arbitration, Mediation, and Negotiation. He has also worked for several volunteer mediation groups - notably the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, the County Mediation Program, and the County Small Claims Court.

He is an advocate of College of San Mateo, having regularly taken night courses. He has taught Mediation and Arbitration, and continues to practice as time permits. He has refereed and coached for the Sportsclub.

Mr. Marsh is a member of the Green Party and believes wholeheartedly in their basic planks: Sustainability/ Future Focus, Ecological Wisdom, Grassroots Democracy, Social Justice, Nonviolence, Decentralization, Community Based Economics, Feminism / Postpatriarchal Values, Respect For Diversity/ Inclusiveness, and Personal Global Responsibility.

Mr. Marsh is an original elected member of the MidCoast Community Council and was elected to a full four year term in 1993. He has been active in all the major committees: Park & Rec, Streets, Traffic, Planning, Facilities, Finance, and was Chair the year Devil's Slide slid ('95).
