Official Ballot Statement

Jack E. Coyne, Jr.
Occupation: Director-Financial Services

Education & Qualifications:

One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is an excellent education.
It has been my privilege over the past 12 years to have directly influenced and
improved the educational services provided in the San Mateo / Foster City
School District. During that time we have survived difficult years of declining
finances while experiencing rising costs and student population. We have
expanded educational choices through the development of magnet schools and
alternative school calendars. We have conducted two successful bond elections,
reduced class size, modernized school campuses, implemented major curriculum
improvements and implemented after school child care programs. Now is not the
time to walk away, but to forge ahead continuing to ensure the best education
for our children. We have many challenges ahead of us including over crowding,
continuing class size reduction, major facilities improvements, changing
curriculum and student needs. We need people who are committed to continuing
the standard of excellence in education we have established for the School
District and the children of Foster City and San Mateo. With my knowledge,
background and commitment, I believe I am the right choice for continuing to
move our District forward. I hope you believe so also.
