Official Ballot Statement

David W. Knight	Age: 65
Occupation: Systems Programmer

Education & Qualifications:

B.A. University of Texas with double major Mathematics and Business/ Economics.
Associated with IBM on the Peninsula since 1964 and a resident of Menlo Park
for twenty-one years. Since my appointment in 1982 and subsequent elections, I
have been very active on the West Bay Sanitary District Board and in the
activities of the California Association of Sanitation Agencies. Our Board is a
diverse mixture of talents, but from this comes more enlightened decisions. My
business experience and background has prepared me to deal with the challenges
facing our District:
Replacement vs repair of facilities,
The favorable integration of our Flow Equalization Facility,
The lack of adequate sewers in some of our areas, and
Careful financial planning and money management.

With these concerns, with the District's expanding use of office automation,
and with the very successful use of the "COSMO Sewer Maintenance Operation", I
believe my skills have and will continue to be useful to the Sanitary District
Board. My commitment is to the best interests of the taxpayers and the
residents of the District. I sincerely believe my experience as a Director has
served that purpose and I seek your vote and support in this election.
