Official Ballot Statement

David Saari	Age: 50
Occupation: Business Owner

Education & Qualifications:

I moved with my family to Millbrae in 1948, the year Millbrae was incorporated.
I grew up in a house on Bonita, attended Green Hills, Glen Oaks, Taylor Junior
High, Capuchino High, DeAnza and Laney Colleges and College of San Mateo. I
bought my first house on Madrone, then my home on Hazel in 1972.

In 1986, after 10 years with Hewlett Packard, I started my own business
designing control systems. My business allows me to enjoy time with my wife,
Julie, and our daughter, Katie.

I attended Council meetings for 25 years and grew increasingly frustrated from
seeing the citizens ignored. I recently attended a meeting during which a
petition was submitted with the signatures of more than 2,000 Millbrae voters.
Yet our council members remained unanimously opposed to the stance of the
petition. Citizens must be heard by those they elect. I will respond to what I
hear from the community. I do not seek a council seat to further my career, but
solely to represent Millbrae's citizens.

Communities go through four phases; development, stabilization, decline and
renaissance. I enjoyed the benefits of development and stabilization. Sadly, I
watched the decline. I want to contribute to the renaissance.
