Detailed Biography for Daniel F. Quigg

Mayor Daniel F. Quigg and his family have lived in Millbrae for almost 30 years. During this time, Mayor Quigg and his family have served the City of Millbrae in many ways. Most recently, Dan Quigg has served Millbrae as the City’s Mayor. Prior to that, Mayor Dan Quigg served Millbrae as its Vice-Mayor, Council and was Millbrae’s Treasurer from 1980 until 1993.

During his tenure as City Councilman, Mayor Quigg also served the Citizens of Millbrae by sitting on the Boards of:

  • Association of Bay Area Governments
  • Millbrae Chamber of Commerce
  • San Mateo County Economic Development Association
  • Airport Roundtable
  • Airport Land Use

    During the last 30 years, Mayor Quigg has served on a number of Millbrae Boards including: Millbrae’s Water Appeals Board during the drought; the Bicentennial Celebration Board. Mayor Quigg has long been active in the Millbrae Lions Club, chairing several community programs, and serving as Lions Club Treasurer. He is also past Director of the Millbrae Historical Society, past President of St. Dunstan’s School Board, a former St. Dunstan’s basketball Coach, and a former Boy Scout Leader.

    Mayor Dan is not the only Quigg who has been active in the community. The Quigg family has also served the community through Catherine Quigg’s service on the Millbrae Planning Commission and son David’s contribution in building the signs for Josephine Waugh-Soroptimist Park as his Eagle Scout project.

    Dan Quigg was born and raised on the San Francisco Peninsula. Dan attended local schools and received a degree in business administration. Mayor Dan, his wife Catherine, moved their family to Millbrae nearly 30 years ago. The Quiggs have lived in Millbrae, a Place in the Sun, where they have raised their 2 sons, Steve and David, who attended Millbrae schools.

    For almost 30 years Mayor Quigg worked in the field of insurance management. In l985 Mayor Quigg was ready for a career change and seeing a need for a Home Repair Service he decided to start his own small business, a business which allows him to interact with many of Millbrae’s citizens.
